Florida is one of the world’s great flight‑training hubs, and pilots from Latin America and around the world come here for their FAA licenses. This is what the M‑1 student visa gives you.
The visa made for flight training
The M‑1 is the U.S. student visa for vocational programs like flight school. As an SEVP‑certified school, we issue your Form I‑20 and guide every step.
An FAA license respected worldwide
FAA certificates follow ICAO standards and are among the most recognized in aviation — a strong base to validate or convert your license back home.
Up to 6 months of practical training
After you finish, you can request one month of practical training for every four months of full‑time study, up to six months, once USCIS approves your work permit (EAD).
Bring your family
Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 can apply to come with you in M‑2 status while you train.
Miami: fly all year, feel at home
Sunny weather for most of the year means more flying days, and Miami is the U.S. city closest to Latin America — in culture, language and flights home.

Questions from Indian families
Can students from India train at Aeroservice on an M‑1 visa?
Yes. We issue Form I‑20 to students who meet our admission requirements and guide your family through the DS‑160, the I‑901 SEVIS fee and the visa interview. The visa decision is made by the U.S. consulate.
Can I convert my FAA licence to a DGCA licence in India?
Many Indian pilots train abroad and then obtain their DGCA licence. The conversion requirements are set and updated by the DGCA, so check the current rules before you start; we help you plan your training with that goal in mind.
Where is the visa interview for Indian students?
At the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi or at one of the U.S. consulates in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad or Kolkata.
Can I work in the U.S. after my training?
M‑1 students may apply for practical training after completing their program: one month for every four months of full‑time study, up to six months, with an approved work permit (EAD).
Do you help with housing and arrival in Miami?
Yes. About two weeks before you arrive we present two or three housing options to your family, we pick you up at the airport and support you during your first week.
